Our client, is a multinational chemical company, active within advanced materials and chemicals Based in the Antwerp area (Belgium). As Engineer for Product Safety you would work closely with their dynamic team of EH&S employees and together with your colleagues you will be responsible for building maintaining and further expanding compliance topics.

Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the EHS team you will be involved in monitoring and implementing legislation regarding product safety. Includes legislation regarding substances of concern, labelling, safety data sheets and product registrations
• You will structure all compliance-related information to make it accessible for reviews and audits, for both internal and external parties
• You will follow up the registration of new and existing substances to achieve compliance with REACH or similar regulations, you will work closely with international colleagues and technical experts
• You will handle customer surveys regarding product compliance and you will support the Business department in compliance-related topics
• You will regularly evaluate raw materials and finished products in the context of REACH regulations, you will process this information and work closely with our purchasing department to guarantee supplier compliance.
• You will stay informed of innovations in the field of compliance and, if necessary, you will provide the necessary internal communication and training.

Requirements:

• You will have a degree in a (bio)chemical field or similar with experience in a compliance environment
• Experience with European product regulations and in particular REACH and CLP. Experience with international product regulations is a bonus
• Fluency in English and Dutch is a must, both spoken and written
• You will be a problem solver, with a customer-oriented focus with an organised and structured approach
